FACULTY REGISTRATION

The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has initiated a process for the registration of faculty members from institutions that hold recognition from the PNMC. This registration process is essential to ensure the quality and compliance of nursing education and faculty standards. Overall, this initiative by the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council is designed to enhance the quality and accountability of nursing education. By maintaining a registry of faculty members and ensuring that they meet the necessary standards, it contributes to the overall improvement of nursing education and, by extension, the quality of healthcare services in the country.

Here’s an elaboration of the stated procedure:

  1. Purpose: The primary purpose of this initiative is to maintain a record of all faculty members who are involved in teaching nursing in institutions recognized by the PNMC. This registration process ensures that faculty members meet the required qualifications and standards set by the PNMC.
  2. Mandatory Requirement: All recognized institutions are obligated to participate in this process. They are expected to provide the necessary information and documentation for their faculty members to be registered.
  3. Documentation: Institutions are required to send a completed Faculty Registration Application Form for each of their faculty members. The form may include details about the faculty member’s qualifications, experience, and other relevant information as deemed necessary by the PNMC.
  4. Faculty List: Along with the individual application forms, institutions are also expected to submit a comprehensive list of all their faculty members. This list is likely to contain the names, designations, and other pertinent details of each faculty member.
  5. Prescribed Performa: Institutions should adhere to a specific format or performa provided by the PNMC for submitting this information. This ensures uniformity and standardization in the documentation process.
  6. Timeliness: The PNMC emphasizes the importance of prompt action in this regard. Institutions are required to submit the necessary documents and lists immediately. This is likely to be a proactive measure to maintain up-to-date records of faculty members.
  7. Future Registrations: In addition to the current faculty registration process, the PNMC has set a goal for the future. New faculty members joining an institution should complete their registration within 15 days of their appointment. This time frame ensures that newly appointed faculty members meet the registration requirements quickly.
