The general public, Students and Parents seeking Admission in any Nursing Educational Institution are advised to check the School/College/Institute status with PNMC Recognized institution list available on PNMC website. PNMC will not be responsible for admission in any unrecognized or unclear status Nursing Educational institution.

PARENT AND STUDENTS ALERT
Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council is the only regulatory body for streamlining the educational / services matters of Nurses, Midwives and LHVs throughout the country. The grant of recognition in respect of any qualification or higher qualification (Diploma/Degree Programs) is the mandate of the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council only according to the PNC Act 1973 (XXVI).
According to Section 12 of PNC Act 1973:
12. RECOGNITION OF INSTITUTIONS OR AUTHORITIES CONDUCTING TRAINING:
(1) Any institution or authority which conducts any courses of study of training in general nursing, midwifery, health visiting, public health nursing, auxiliary nursing or nursing aide (Naid) may apply to the Council for recognition.
(2) The Council may, if it is satisfied after such inquiry as it may think fit to make that the institution or authority making an application under sub-section (1) fulfills such requirements as may be prescribed for the purpose, grant the recognition applied for.
Student and their parents are requested to note that Skill Development Council is not entitled to impart any kind of training related to Nursing, Midwifery, or LHV course. Institutions recognized by Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council are only authorized to impart training in Nursing, Midwifery, or LHV Diplomas.
Be noted that the following are the basic requirements for professionals to be registered with Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council:
- The candidate got training from institutions recognized with PNC and affiliated with Nursing Examination Boards (NEBs).
- Training should be according to PNMC approved curriculum and Exam cleared by the candidate conducted under the respective Nursing Examination Board (NEB) and issuance of clearance certificate/ diploma by respective Nursing Examination Board (NEB).
It has been announced repeatedly and reiterated that PNMC will not recognize diplomas issued by the institutions which are running under the Skill Development Council. Skill Development Council is not legally authorized to award Nursing, Midwifery & LHV Diplomas.
The students and their parents are requested to ensure the status of the school/college/institute from Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council before seeking admission and are advised not to be admitted to those institutions affiliated with any other Council like Skill Development Council other than Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council. A list of institutions recognized by the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council is also placed on the PNMC website i.e. www.pnmc.gov.pk.
